Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Systems, this position has direct responsibility to manage, maintain and support the Financial Systems computer applications and systems. This includes General Accounting, Materials Management, Central Supply, Accounts Payable, Time and Attendance and Payroll. The customer base is system-wide with the primary user base in general accounting and materials management. The major applications managed and supported include Lawson (General Accounting, General Ledger, Supply Distribution, Purchase Orders, Accounts Payable) and the WPS (payroll) systems. This position provides Project Management for system projects including Lawson upgrades, conversions, interfaces and payroll systems and uses project life cycle processes to meet the desired objectives of the Financial Systems. The person in this position actively initiates contacts and meetings with clients to identify and document system requriements that best support and enhance their daily operations. The position manages and coordinates system enhancements and upgrades to proprietary and vendor systems with clients, MCCS and vendors. The person in this position meets with MCCS to plan releases, review procedures and deliverables. Other duties include: ensuring that system releases are tested thorooughly and applied to production environment;monitoring and resolving on-going produciton problems and issues; taking projects form original concept thorugh final implementation;interfacing with all areas affected by the project, which may include customers, client services and various departments; developing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates,resource plans, budgets and status reports; conducting project meetings and taking responsibility for project deliverables; direct supervisior and support of staff members providing analysis and support for the Financial Computer Systems. |
| Qualifications & Requirements |
B.A. or M.S. degree with experience in project management of complex IT projects on time and within budget as well as experience managing technical resource staff. The successful applicant for this position must: demonstrate strong management skills with the ability to manage large system-wide projects with time and resource constraints;excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with Directors, Managers, Senior Professionals and support staff; excellent knowledge and skills in the Lawson environment; comprehensive understanding of Healthcare Financial Business regulatory and business processes; proven experience in effectively managing staff to set goals and priorities to ensure a high level performance;demonstratived oral communication skills to convey information clearly and concisely; demonstrated interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional working relationships and to communicate effectively in resolving problems; excellent ability to analyze information and situations to identify relevant issues, propose solutions, recognize alternatives, and to present this in a logical and objective manner;demonstrated skill in working independently and setting priorities to ensure information is accurate, complete, and deadlines are met; ability to perform effectively with frequent interruptions and/or distractions; conflict resolution skills, strategic thinking, and persuasion, negotiation and presentation skills; administrative skills in management of employees within organizational policy and procedure; forward thinking in seekng alternatives to difficult business problems; demonstrated leadership in management of complex, multi-faceted projects which meet results driven success criteria; skill in analyzing information, problems,situations, practices, procedures to define the problem or objective; identify relevant concerns or factors;identify patterns, tendencies and relationships; formulate logical and objective conclusions; and recognize alternatives and their implications;skill in speaking clearly, using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and convey information to individuals at various technical and organizational levels. |
